Country Cousin Club - March 1980

This video was recorded at the end of a one week stint at the club in Parson's Green. The initial aim of the group was to incorporate various styles of popular harmony styles over the twentieth century: close harmony swing, barbershop, do wop etc.  Wall Street Crash gave their very first performances  at Country Cousin and the line up was (in alphabetical order) Colin Copperfield, Mary Dunne, Paul Felber, James Graeme, Sean Harris, Ricky Piper, Jean Rich and Sharron Skelton. It was accompanied by a ten piece band featuring Tim Williams (piano), Ronnie Caryl (guitar), Bob Efford (bass), Paul Urwin (drums), Guy Barker (trumpet), Tony Hepworth (trumpet), Mike Harding (trombone), Bob Sydor (tenor sax), Bob McKay (tenor sax), Mark Hutchins (baritone).  Ricky Piper, Shaun Harris and Sharron Skelton left the group shortly after this performance.

This is a song from Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks. It was suggested by Ricky Piper and it feature him on lead vocal.

The Doobie Brothers song that stayed in the live act for quite a time

All That Jazz

A song from the Kander and Ebb musical Chicago. This was many years before it became a transatlantic hit show. This one features Mary Dunne.

The girls give the Peggy Lee classic their own treatment

There Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens

The whacky Louis Jordan song is given a close harmony treatment by the boys.

Strip Polka

A lesser known Andrews Sisters classic performed by Jean, Mary & Sharron

Let's Go, Let's Go, Let's Go

Jean Rich and Richard Piper feature on this great 1960 R&B song by Hank Ballard and the Midnighters. This was the only occasion the song was performed by the group.

This is a medley of songs performed in the TV Series Oh Boy where the group met. It stayed in the act for a year or so.

Not sure why but this is another song that didn't last in the group's repertoire

Papa's Got A Brand New Bag
