2nd Dutch Special 1984

This is the second TV Special recorded in Hilversum in the same year. Maria is still with the group and it was around the time Keith Strachan was leaving. Most of the songs are from the first album Wall Street Crash and the second European Affair. The comedy duo of Colin and Mr Felber is beginning to take root. You know, I think they could have taken it up professionally!  Sadly, the video quality is not great on this one. Apologies for that.

I Got A Gal In Kalamazoo

The song made famous by The Glenn Miller Orchestra featuring Tex Beneke and the Modernaires but sung here with the usual panache by Jim and the Wallys. (Sorry about the dodgy start to the video)

Shopping For Clothes

Another old favourite. originally written by Leiber and Stoller for the Coasters

Class

A song from the Kander and Ebb musical, Chicago. From the first Wall street crash album and sung here by Mary and Maria

Fay Lovsky

The first guest. Find out more.

Madison Square

Peter's classy piece of nouveau swing from the European affair album

You Naughty Naughty Boy

Almost a nod to Kurt Weill with this original but neglected song. (Is that the correct title?)

The Dolly Dots

The second guests. Find out more.

Zanzibar

A short original song sung here by Maria

I Really Dig Those 40s Girls

A short rock and roll song written and performed by Colin

Swing Baby

I remember this one! (KS) Was it written by Jim

Only A Step Away

A great Italian ballad from the European Affair album. Sung by Jim.

Swing Swing Swing

This time it's the version recorded for the aWall Street Crash album as opposed to the live version.
